Relative Visions Photographic works by Rick Kolega (1980’s) Maya Kolega (2016)
A collection of photographs connected by life itself. A father and a daughter are jointly inspired to present a new perspective on past and present visions. In 2016, Maya embarked on a journey through Europe reminiscent of her fathers 30 years ago. The journey taken by both father and daughter in similar locations and yet different times has helped form this exhibition of relative visions.
“At times when I look at Maya’s photos I see fragments of myself: the way I viewed the world around me: the way I focused on a subject: the way I pointed the lens and the timing of the shutter. It is both uncanny and sensational that our visions share a similar path with so many years between us..” Quote by Rick Kolega
“I have been sorting through Dad’s slides and negatives for years, to me he is the living Vivian Meier. His photographs need to be seen and the stories that go with them need to be told” Quote by Maya Kolega
